Government’s support to farmers, distributing higher-yielding varieties of seeds

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that, “Agriculture is the first occupation of man as it embraces the whole earth and is the foundation of all other industries”. India, being an agrarian country has made great strides in domestic food production and has significantly contributed to progress in agriculture and allied sectors.

India’s remarkable journey from a food deficit nation to a food surplus, export-oriented country would not have been possible without the continuous engagement and efforts of the Central government. To support the farmers, recently, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched the Seed Minikit Programme by distributing seed mini-kits or higher-yielding varieties of seeds to farmers. The programme is a major tool for introducing new varieties of seeds in the farmers’ fields and is instrumental in increasing the seed replacement rate. These seed mini kits comprise pulses, soybean seeds and groundnuts. Follow us on Twitter: Like us on Facebook: Follow us on Instagram: Join us on Telegram: Follow us on Koo:…
