French Open: Serena Williams storms into fourth round with straight-sets win

In the French Open, American No.7 seed Serena Williams overcame a second-set rough patch against Danielle Collins, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last 16. She will take on no. 21 seed Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan in the next match. Williams is now the only top-10 player left in her half of the Roland-Garros women’s singles draw.

While selection of stars and surprise packages made it to the fourth round, third-round action will resume today with defending champion Iga Swiatek and the ‘Big Three’ fighting for the next round.

Men’s top seed Novak Djokovic faces unseeded Lithuanian Ricardis Berankis for a place in the fourth round for the 12th straight time, while eighth seed Roger Federer continues his comeback from two knee surgeries against German world No.59 Dominik Koepfer.

In a third-round rematch from the Australian Open, 13-time champion Rafael Nadal squares off against Briton Cameron Norrie in an all-lefty clash.
