Himachal Pradesh ranks 2nd in country in SDG India Index and Dashboard

Himachal Pradesh has been ranked as the second best state in the country after Kerala in achieving the targets under Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index and Dashboard.

NITI Aayog yesterday launched the third edition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index and Dashboard 2020-21

Himachal Pradesh scored an overall index of 74 whereas Kerala has scored an index of 75.

While expressing happiness over the recognition to the State, Chief Minister  Jai Ram Thakur congratulated people of the State and said the State Government has taken many steps for providing clean water and better sanitation facilities to the people of the state besides ensuring affordable and clean energy and other social services such as health, education, nutrition and gender equality.

It may be recalled that SDG India Index is tabulated annually by NITI Aayog in order to evaluate the progress of states and union territories on the basis of social, economic and environmental criteria.
