Bihar: About 65 lakh saving bank accounts opened in post office amid covid pandemic

In Bihar about 65 lakh saving bank accounts were opened in post office across the state amid covid pandemic. 818 crore rupees was disbursed among 34 lakh account holders of the state. Anil Kumar, Chief Post Master General of Bihar circle told AIR that Bihar tops the country to make money transaction and DBT transfer to people through India Post Payments Bank.

Mr Kumar said life saving drugs and other essential materials were made available to people through parcel service. He said mobile post offices also played vital role during crisis periods.
