More than two crore 20 lakh Covid vaccine doses still available with states, UTs: Health Ministry

The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has said that more than two crore 20 lakh Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories to be administered to the beneficiaries.

The Ministry has said, the Central Government has provided over 24 crore 17 lakh Covid vaccine doses to States and Union Territories so far. Of this, the total consumption of doses including wastages is over 21 crore 96 lakh.

The Union Health Ministry has said that vaccination is a crucial pillar for containment and management of the Covid-19 pandemic along with Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour. It said, the Central Government has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the States and Union Territories.
