India’s merchandise export registers impressive growth in May 2021

India’s merchandise export has registered an impressive growth in May last month. The Commerce Secretary Dr Anup Wadhawan today said that merchandise exports in May last month showed a significant growth of over 67 per cent compared to corresponding period of last year.

The Commerce and Industry Ministry has said, merchandise imports also registered a growth of over 68 per cent during last month in comparison to corresponding period of last year. It said, imports have declined by over 17 per cent in the last month as compared to May 2019. Service exports estimated for May this year is USD 17.85 billion. It has registered a positive growth of over six percent compared to May last year.
