The country is witnessing a significant sustained decline in active caseloads and fresh Covid cases. The Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the daily new cases for the 20th consecutive day. Over two lakh 31 thousand patients have recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate has further improved to 92.48 per cent.
The Health and Family Welfare Ministry has said, the active caseloads presently comprise 6.33 per cent of the cumulative positive cases and it is continuously declining. It said, decrease of over one lakh active cases is registered in the last 24 hours. At present, there are over 17 lakh 93 thousand active cases.
The weekly and daily positivity rate is also declining. The weekly test positivity rate currently stands at 8.21 per cent and daily positivity rate is at 6.57 per cent. This is the ninth consecutive day the daily positivity rate less than 10 per cent has been registered. So far, over two crore 61 lakh patients have already been recovered from this infectious disease.
The Union Health Ministry has said, over one lakh thirty two thousand new Covid cases in the last 24 hours were recorded and a total of three thousand 207 deaths have also been reported in the country within 24 hours. Meanwhile, testing capacities have been ramped up for the early detection of coronavirus. Indian Council of Medical Research has informed that 20 lakh 19 thousand Covid tests were conducted yesterday. So far, over 35 crore tests have been conducted in the country.
