NR Congress legislator Lakshmi Narayanan takes Oath as Pro-tem speaker of Puducherry Assembly

In the Union Territory of Puducherry, the NR Congress legislator Lakshmi Narayanan took Oath as the  Pro-tem   speaker of the 15th Legislative Assembly today.

AIR correspondent reports, in a simple function held in Raj Nivas today morning, Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office to Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan and he took charge officially today.

Following this, all the 30 elected representatives and three nominated MLAs also took pledge as the Members of the 15th Legislative Assembly in the speaker’s chamber.

They have administered the oath of office by the Pro-tem speaker Lakshmi Narayanan.

Covid guidelines were strictly followed and the function was held in the Speaker’ s chamber itself.

The 10 members of the NR Congress including the Chief Minister Rengasamy, 6 Independent legislators , 2 from Congress, 3 nominated members, 6 members from DMK, and another 6 members from BJP were took pledge today.

The NR Congress leader Rengasamy, BJP senior leader Namasivayam, Opposition leader Siva from DMK and other legislators, took the oath in the name of God.

After assuming the office officially the Chief Minister Rengasamy announced Rs. 3000 financial assistance to all the Ration Card holders in the UT of Puducherry to alleviate the problems faced by the people due to lock down.

Rupees 105 crores will be distributed to 3, 50,000 card holders.
