Puducherry: Counting of votes to be held tomorrow

In the Union Territory of Puducherry, the Counting of votes will be held tomorrow. The single-phase Election for the 30 member Legislative Assembly was held on 6 th April. The counting of votes will begin at 8 o clock tomorrow morning.

The Election department has planned to count the votes in 3 batches of constituencies. i.e 8, 8 and 7 constituencies respectively. In order to maintain social distancing in the counting hall, the number of tables for counting in each hall is restricted to 5. Arrangements has been made strictly according to the Covid protocals.

The counting of votes for 23 constituencies in Puducherry region will be held in 3 centres here. i.e in Women s Polytechnic College , Motilal Nehru Polytechnic College and Tagore Arts and science College – all 3 in Lawspet.

In Karaikal region the counting of votes of 5 Constituencies will be held at PG Centre at Arignar Anna Government Arts and Science College. MAHE constituency votes will be counted at Jawaharlal Nehru Govt Higher Secondary School and the Yanam constituency votes will be counted at Conference Hall, Mini Civil Station. 81.70 % of total votes polled in the Election held.
