Puducherry: Private medical colleges directed to doubled the number of Oxygen beds, ventilator facilities for Covid patients

In the Union Territory of Puducherry, private medical colleges have been directed to doubled the number of Oxygen beds and ventilator facilities for the Covid patients.

In a press release the Health Director Dr. Mohan Kumar said that the private medical colleges are reportedly equipped with at least 100 Oxygen beds and 10 ventilators. Now they are told to increase additional 100 more Oxygen beds and 10 Ventilators with in 2 weeks time.

Meanwhile in the UT, 1,92,910 persons administered covid Vaccination so far. The health department is making all arrangements for the vaccination of people above 18 years of age from May 1 onwards. The registration for vaccination already begin. Today, 1122 persons registered positive for the infection. 12 persons died. 564 persons cured and discharged.  The total active cases aggregated to 8689 including 1681 in hospitals and 7308 persons in home isolation. The Recovery rate has further declined to 82.97 % and case fatality rate stands at 1.38 %.
