11 districts of J&K to observe lockdown from 7 pm this evening till 7 am Monday

Amid surge in COVID-19 cases, 11 districts of Jammu and Kashmir will observe lockdown from 7 pm this evening till 7 am Monday. These districts include Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kulgam, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kathua, Reasi and Udhampur. Essential services have been exempted from the lockdown.

Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir reported 3023 New COVID-19 Cases, 963 Recoveries & 30 Deaths in the last 24 hours. Total Cases have piled up to 169077.

Meanwhile, more than 22 lakh people above 45 years of age have been vaccinated against COVID in the state. The third phase of vaccination for all above 18 years of age will commence from 1st May. Under this phase, about 65 lakh people in the age group 18-45 will be vaccinated.
