Tamil Nadu CM urges Centre to dispatch ten lakh doses of Covid vaccines to state in advance

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has urged the Centre to dispatch ten lakh doses of Covid vaccines to the state in advance. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday, he has said the doses are required for the proposed vaccination camps for the industrial workers and also to assure the vaccines for those who come for the second dose.

He has said there are reported moves to restrict the movement of lifesaving medicines like Remdesivir, adding, such moves may affect their availability in other parts. He has said the Integrated Vaccine Complex at Chengalpattu, a centrally executed project of national importance, be operationalized by finishing a few pending works so that vaccine production is augmented.
