1937 new positive cases, 19 Covid deaths reported in J&K

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the J&K administration is relentlessly working to tighten the implementation of the existing control measures and SOPs in an effort to reverse the upward trend in the number of positive Covid cases being reported nowadays in Jammu and Kashmir.

1937 new positive cases and 19 Covid deaths were reported in the Union Territory yesterday. AIR Correspondent reports that keeping in view of the surge in the covid cases, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam has impressed upon the concerned officers to strictly implement the strategy of testing, vaccination and promotion of maintaining appropriate behaviour among the general masses.  Mr Subrahmanyam has asked the respective district administrations to ramp up testing in the identified clusters and prioritize the vaccination to the eligible population.

Meanwhile, the administration has approved the establishment of 36 Oxygen Generation Plants across the Union Territory to make Jammu and Kashmir self-sufficient in catering to the rising demand of oxygen.
