Maharashtra plans to provide over 27 lakh tap water connections in current financial year under Jal Jeevan Mission

Maharashtra has planned to provide over 27 lakh tap water connections in the current financial year under Jal Jeevan Mission. Jal Shakti Ministry said that Maharashtra today presented their Jal Jeevan Mission Annual Action Plan through video conference.

Maharashtra has also proposed to make 13 districts and 12 thousand 839 villages ‘Har Ghar Jal’ aiming at 100 per cent coverage. The State has one crore 42 lakh rural households, out of which 64 per cent are getting tap water supply.

Jal Jeevan Mission was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th August, 2019, with the aim to provide tap water supply to every rural home by 2024.
