Bihar govt to give free vaccine to all above 18 years of age

Bihar government has decided to give free vaccine to all above 18 years of age.

In a tweet, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the state government will bear the cost of administering jabs to all citizens of the state.

Meanwhile, Bihar witnessed the highest spike in COVID-19 cases and related deaths yesterday.

12,222 active cases of COVID-19 were reported during the past 24 hours in the state and 95 deaths were also reported.

With this, casualities due to pandemic has gone upto 1897.

Maximum positive cases of 2,919 reported from Patna.

Mortality rate has increased by 20 percent in the past 20 days.

Active cases in the state have gone upto 63,746 and they are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

Recovery rate is decreasing and it is now at 81.47 percent.

Meanwhile, 75,671 people took vaccine Wednesday.

Over 62 lakh 67 thousand 491 people have so far been vaccinated in the state.
