In Tamil Nadu, the number of new cases of Covid in the last 24-hours has moved closer to eleven thousand. This is the second time in a row that the figure has almost reached the 11-thousand mark. Meanwhile, state government has said there are sufficient oxygen supplies in all the government hospitals in the state. AIR correspondent reports, the health department in Tamil Nadu received a fresh consignment of about six lakh doses of covid vaccines on Tuesday. The state has so far received about 56 lakh doses of the vaccines.
On the clinical front, the state Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services has asked all the empaneled private hospitals to earmark at least 50-percent of their beds for Covid treatment. The move is aimed at augmenting the bed availability for the treatment of the viral disease.
