More than 37 lakh COVID-19 patients under home quarantine in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra 6.76 lakh patients are under treatment for covid19. More than 37 lakh are under home quarantine and around 27 thousand are under institutional quarantine. In order to help local administrations various organisations have set up covid centers at various places in the state. Pune Zilla Parishad employees have voluntarily contributed 1 day salary. In Nandurbar district, Women’s special isolation ward is set up by zilla parishad.

Pune Zilla Parishad employees have voluntarily contributed a salary of one day. Around 2 crore rupees collected from this will be used for treatment of corona patients in rural areas. Around 130 doctors including 30 specialists will be appointed and their honorarium will be paid from these funds. Nandurbar Zilla Parishad has set up special covid isolation wards for female patients. It has 150 beds and ZP’s health care workers will provide their services in this ward. In Nashik district, Mahatma Phule Samata Parishad has set up a 395 bed covid center. Out of which 180 have an oxygen facility. Some local corporators have also set up covid centers through people’s participation. Jain Community has set up 35 bed hospitals in private hotels. Private doctors and health workers are providing their services in these centers to ease the burden of government staff.
