Fifth phase of assembly elections in West Bengal records 78.36% voter turnout

The Election Commission has said that 78.36 per cent polling has been recorded in the fifth phase of Assembly Elections in West Bengal. Voting took place yesterday in 15 thousand 789 Polling Stations spread across 45 Assembly Constituencies in West Bengal. Simultaneously polling was also held for by-elections to two Lok Sabha seats including Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh and Belgaum in Karnataka along with 12 Assembly Constituencies across 10 States.

Over 8 thousand polling stations in West Bengal were monitored live through webcasting. There was huge turnout of Women Voters. The Commission thanked voters for strictly following COVID protocols.
