17,489 new Covid cases reported in Karnataka in last 24 hrs

In Karnataka, a record number of 17,489 new Covid cases were reported yesterday. Around 5,565 persons recovered from the infection in last twenty-four hours. The positivity rate stands at 12.20 % and fatality rate at 0.45%. There were 80 deaths reported yesterday due to the pandemic. Bengaluru Urban recorded the highest 11, 404 positive cases yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar has said that, state government is taking all measures to supply Remdesivir to private hospitals at a reasonable rate. In a tweet he said, about 33 hospitals in Bengaluru have placed their requests for supply of Remdesivir and 100 vials each of Remdesivir will be supplied to these hospitals by today.

In his tweet, the health Minister Dr. K Sudhakar has also said that, over 2, 31, 870 people have been vaccinated on a single day yesterday in the state. With this, the total number of people vaccinated in state increased to about 67,18,709.
