1,30,564 persons inoculated in Puducherry

In the Union Territory of Puducherry a total number of 1,30,564 Persons inoculated till date, including 29,726 health care workers, 17,253 Front line staffs and 93,232 general public. The Mass Vaccination Drive called Teeka Utsav launched April 11th will continue till Tomorrow.

The Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan brought 1000 vials of REMDESIVIR medicine from Hyderabad, used to treat Covid patients, to meet out the requirement in Puducherry. More over LG inaugurated a Mobile Vaccination Camp at the Thattanchavadi regulatory board office, for the benefit of the farmers. Meanwhile Puducherry witnessed a sudden spike of Covid 19 positive cases in the last few days. The Health Department indicated that out of 4714 persons tested 531 new cases recorded positive of which 366 cases from Puducherry, 95 from Karaikal, 48 from Yanam and 22 cases from MAHE region.

With 220 persons discharged, the active cases stands at 3576, includes 678 in hospitals and 2898 in home isolation. 3 persons died. The recovery rate from the infection comes down to 90.78 per cent and the case fatality rate is 1.51 per cent.

So far the Health Department conducted 7,19,418 number of tests, of which 6,55,565 were negative.
