Rupee appreciates 45 paise to end at 74.92 against US dollar

In a see-saw trade, the rupee, at the foreign exchange market, appreciated 45 paise to end at nine-month high of 74 rupees and 92 paise against the US dollar. The domestic unit appreciated mainly due to weakness in the American currency.

The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, dipped to its lowest since March 18 at 91.53.
