Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray says, Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts and work continue to bring positive change in lives of millions even today

Describing Dr. B R Ambedkar as an expert of law, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts and work not just continue to inspire but also bring in positive change in the lives of millions even today. Virtually addressing the function to publish “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Source Material Volume 3-1 Janta”, the Chief Minister said the book is a treasure trove of knowledge with golden words of wisdom inscribed on each of its pages. Stating that it is important to understand Dr. Ambedkar’s personality as a whole, Mr. Thackeray said the state will continue to support publication of material related to Dr. Ambedkar’s life.

Earlier today, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar and leaders across parties paid rich tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 130th birth anniversary by visiting Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai.

Given the growing prevalence of COVID-19, the celebrations were subdued this year and the proceedings were telecast live so that people could pay their respects from their homes. General Secretary of Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvana Day Coordinating Committee Nagsen Kamble thanked citizens for their response and for avoiding crowding the memorial in Dadar.
