58,993 new coronavirus cases reported in Maharashtra

Reporting a spike of 58,993 fresh cases, Maharashtra’s tally of coronavirus cases has risen to 32,88,540. According to the state’s public health department, 45,391 patients were discharged, taking the total number of recovered patients to 26,95,148. AIR correspondent reports, in Maharashtra, the number of active Covid – 19 patients stands at 5,34,603. Pune tops the chart with over one lakh active cases followed by Mumbai that has close to 90 thousand active patients.

Mumbai’s Neighbouring Thane district has over 67 thousand active cases while Nagpur has around 63 thousand active patients. Nashik has a little over 36 thousand active cases while Ahmednagar and Aurangabad have over 16 thousand active cases.

Mumbai reported 9,200 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases beyond five lakhs. The city reported 5099 recoveries yesterday. Vaccination will be done today and tomorrow at Government and Municipal Hospitals in Mumbai. Vaccination will not be done in the vaccination center of private hospital on today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow.

However, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has tweeted that it will resume vaccination in private centers if more stocks become available.
